How does this program help Goodwill?
Proceeds from a donated vehicle provide support to Goodwill’s programs and services that enable disabled and disadvantaged individuals in the Kansas City community reach their vocational goals. This includes, education, training and evaluation services and job resources programs. All proceeds from this program stay in the community.
What type of vehicle does Goodwill accept?
All types of vehicles are accepted. We handle autos, trucks, sports utilities, motor homes, boats, airplanes, farm equipment, construction equipment, etc.
What happens to my vehicle after I donate it to Goodwill?
Depending on the condition, the vehicle is either re-sold at a dealer’s auction or processed as salvage.
What is the required condition of my vehicle in order to donate to Goodwill?
Your vehicle must be whole (no missing engines, trunks, etc.). The vehicle need not run but you will be asked to explain the condition of the vehicle. Your vehicle must have a clear title in your name, if required by your home state.
Does this program also give cars away to individuals in need?
No, Goodwill’s Car Donation program is strictly a way for individuals to donate their unwanted vehicle, much like how our retail stores operate. The item donated is re-sold and proceeds are used to fund programs and services. Goodwill does not donate the vehicles received to individuals.
