What We Do

AbilityOne

Empowering people with disabilities.

What is AbilityOne?

The Federal AbilityOne Program uses the purchasing power of the Federal Government to buy products and services from community-based nonprofit agencies nationwide. These jobs provide people with significant documented disabilities an opportunity to acquire job skills and training, receive good wages and benefits, and gain greater independence and quality of life. The Federal AbilityOne program provides employment opportunities to more that 45,000 people who are blind of have other significant disabilities–nearly 3,000 of whom are also veterans!

Goodwill participates in AbilityOne with custodial service contracts at the Richard Bolling Federal Building in downtown Kansas City, Missouri and at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas.
