What We Do
Digital Skills Training
Gain the digital skills you need for a new job, career, or promotion!
Our training classes are available in-person and online at flexible times. Learn everything from basic computer skills like email, social media, and internet navigation to advanced lessons in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This standalone training can be delivered at our sites or brought to partner locations with or without computer labs through our Mobile Workforce Unit (MWU).
Participants gain essential technology skills, including:
- Microsoft Office applications
- Basic computer skills
- Email and internet navigation
- No prior technology experience required
- In-person classes available with laptops and MacBooks provided
- Online classes for flexible, remote learning
- Build your digital skills at your own pace
Northstar Digital Literacy defines basic skills needed to perform tasks on computers and online. Online, self-guided modules assess the ability of individuals to perform tasks in essential computer, software, and technology skills. Northstar was developed in response to the needs of job seekers who may lack the digital literacy skills needed to seek, obtain, and retain employment, as well as to perform other tasks in daily life.

Beginner classes are held on Tuesday afternoons. Students must pass an assessment or complete all 4 beginner courses to qualify for Thursday afternoon software courses. All new students must complete enrollment before class.
The Artemis Institute
