What We Do
Bridge to Technology
Launch your career into the tech industry with MoKan Goodwill’s Bridge to Technology.
The Bridge to Technology program is designed to prepare adult learners for an advanced career pathway of their choice within the technology field and other identified future state industries including Robotics, AI/Computer Vision Machine Learning, AR/VR (Artificial Reality/Virtual Reality), 3D Printing, Cybersecurity, and IoT (Internet of Things) and more. This dynamic class structure consists of three 2-week blocks. Students can choose to take all 3 blocks for a total of 6 weeks or join for the 2-week block that interests them most! Students will participate in the program through a combination of online and in-person instruction. Learners will attend the Bridge to Technology program at our AI Learning Lab located at our Mission Support Center in Kansas City, MO. Each student will work with a Workforce Development Specialist to create a Career Development Plan and Resume. They will also have access to supportive services to removed barriers to success.

Participants must be 18+.
Each Bridge to Technology class is broken into three 2-week blocks of content.
BLOCK 1 (weeks 1 & 2)
Python Coding & Circuits/Robotics with Python (20 hours)
- Students learn print and input statements, variables, modules, conditionals (if, elif, else), functions.
- Students then see how these are used to automate simple circuits (lights, sound, displays) and robots.
BLOCK 2 (weeks 3 & 4)
Web Development with HTML & Cybersecurity/Penetration Testing (20 hours)
- Understand the basics of IP addresses, Penetration testing, Reconnaissance, and enumeration.
- Students hack into a virtual machine using several pen-testing techniques.
BLOCK 3 (weeks 5 & 6)
3D Design & Data Analytics with Python & SQL (20 hours)
- Utilize several software programs to design and alter 3-D prints.
- Students use Jupyter notebooks and BigQuery to clean, manipulate, analyze, and visual data using Python and SQL code.
