Kaluta’s Story
Through Goodwill, I found the training, support, and opportunity to build a career I’m proud of.
Mission Moment
When Adney first came to the GoodWORKS Career Center, he had been out of the workforce for over 15 years. He worked with GoodWORKS Program Manager, Karen Altenhofen, to update his resume and figure out the best job for his skills and needs.
Soon after seeking help from GoodWORKS, Adney started a job working for Amazon. Adney realized the long drive was cost prohibitive for the hours he was working. So, once again, he enlisted the help of GoodWORKS to find gainful employment.
Six months ago, Adney earned a new job. He works as a security guard for State Street, where he uses his Military Police experience and security background. He loves it! The wages are higher, and the drive is closer. Adney’s great work ethic and dedication is evident everyday he’s at work.
We are so proud of Adney and his commitment to work hard.
It’s a resounding victory: for the individual, for their family, for their community. When jobs thrive, communities thrive.
Through Goodwill, I found the training, support, and opportunity to build a career I’m proud of.
From overcoming language barriers to building confidence, Goodwill gave me the tools and belief in myself to start a new career.
After finding Goodwill and taking their classes, I gained the confidence and skills to turn my life around.
Goodwill is different than any other Job I've had before. There's no place I'd rather be. I love it here.
