Kaluta’s Story
Through Goodwill, I found the training, support, and opportunity to build a career I’m proud of.
Mission Moment
In early 2014 Darrell received placement help and job coaching from Goodwill for a dishwasher position at a Bob Evans restaurant. But our services didn’t stop there. In May 2015, Bob Evans restaurant closed and Darrell was suddenly unemployed. He put in a few applications but received no calls for an interview.
He did and was welcomed with open arms. By July, Darrell was working at Ryan’s Buffet restaurant. And, two months later, he was promoted to lead dishwasher and now sets the pace for four other employees. We’re proud of you, Darrell, and we’re always here if you need us!
“I need to go back to Goodwill,” Darrell said.
It’s a resounding victory: for the individual, for their family, for their community. When jobs thrive, communities thrive.
Through Goodwill, I found the training, support, and opportunity to build a career I’m proud of.
From overcoming language barriers to building confidence, Goodwill gave me the tools and belief in myself to start a new career.
After finding Goodwill and taking their classes, I gained the confidence and skills to turn my life around.
Goodwill is different than any other Job I've had before. There's no place I'd rather be. I love it here.
