Colin's Story

Colin's Story

Meet Colin.

Colin has worked for Goodwill for six years! Pretty awesome, right? He works on the Computer Recycling team, which is a transitional employment program that partners with Dell to recycle computers. Though six years doesn’t seem transitional, at Goodwill we specialize in building employment plans that are individualized and personal, depending on their particular goals and desires.

Colin is extremely receptive to guidance and coaching – he wants to constantly be growing his skills and is very open to feedback. Because of how well Colin has done in his position, he is now up for a promotion into a position with more responsibilities, which we know he will excel in.

If you haven’t met Colin, you’re really missing out. When you meet him, you can instantly tell how kind he is. He always has a charming story to tell - usually about his favorite topic, sports. Nancy Mueller, the CRC Supervisor, said, “I admire how personable he is and how he always wants to know how you are. You can tell he genuinely cares about you.”

Here are some other facts about Colin you should know! He recently moved out of his parents’ home and lives on his own – an achievement he and his family never thought possible. Because of his commitment to building skills and maintaining employment, he is completely self-sustainable! Fun fact - Colin has also been to the finals in Special Olympics for bocce ball. How cool is that? Colin is great and we can’t wait to see the many things he accomplishes.

Good goes further.™
