Ronnishia's Story

Ronnishia's Story

Meet Ronnishia. A hardworking young mother of two, Ronnishia wanted something more — she wanted to provide a better life for her children and become a role model for them.  When Ronnishia heard about Goodwill’s Quest Academy, she knew this could be a turning point for her and her family.  Quest Academy is a six-week career exploration program for young adults. Students explore career possibilities through classroom training and internships with local businesses.

During the program, Ronnishia was an HR intern. Ronnishia worked hard on auditing, updating and archiving outdated employee records. Michelle Bower, Director of Human Resources, said,

"Having Ronnishia as part of our department was an extreme help.  She was very detailed oriented and diligent in the assignments that we gave her.  Ronnishia was very quiet in the beginning but began to open up during her stay with us.  She was able to ask great questions that allowed her to successfully work through her tasks.  She has a high level of integrity and a passion for whatever she is doing.  She was a pleasure to work with.”

Ronnishia worked hard and successfully graduated from the Quest Academy. After graduation, Ronnishia stayed focused and continued moving forward. Through Quest, she realized that her career goals would require her to finish high school. Goodwill’s Quest Academy helped Ronnishia enroll at A Turning Point Academy, a program to empower motivated adults to earn a high school diploma.

Today, she’s still working hard to provide a better future for herself and her children. We’re proud of you, Ronnishia!
